THE ORIGINS
At the end of the Second World War the Black Forest was occupied by the French army. Vixa came into the world at the beginning of the fifties initially as a military french Air Force watch supplier, specifically with the TYPE-20 which represented part of the war claim from Germany to France. This chronograph, that remains one of the pillars of military watchmakers, was also made by other famous firms. Anyway Vixa was the only one which made use of the german technology; the TYPE-20 and 21 were equipped with 4054 calliber mechanical movements and steel clock-case, both of them produced in Germany.
The watches which were supplied to the Air Force were marked with serie numbers from 5100 to 5154 and following numbers (the other references that begin with FG are referred to the intervention dates made on this watch and to the warranty period given to the intervention). Vixa was also an equipment for special flying units (the CEV Experimental Flying Center); it was used as a wrist watch by the pilots of the Mirage F1, Jaguar and Mirage G5. It is in matter of fact completely identical to the one given to the Luftwaffe, which has a Taylor system in order to obtain the "flyback", the return to zero of the seconds by just pushing on the crown.

LE ORIGINI
Alla fine della Seconda Guerra Mondiale la Foresta Nera era suolo di occupazione francese. Vixa nasce all'inizio degli anni 50 come fornitore di cronografi all'aeronautica militare, inizialmente francese, con la specifica TYPE-20, parte del risarcimento di guerra dalla Germania alla Francia. Questo cronografo resta una delle pietre miliari dell'orologeria militare, fu anche realizzato da altre case rinomate. Vixa tuttavia fu l'unico che si avvalse della tecnologia tedesca, il Type 20 e 21 erano equipaggiati del calibro 4054 a carica manuale e cassa in acciaio prodotti in Germania. Gli orologi in fornitura all'aeronautica erano contrassegnati con i numeri di serie 5100-54 e successivi (gli altri riferimenti che iniziano con FG si riferiscono alle date degli interventi fatti su questo orologio e il periodo di garanzia dato per tale intervento).
Vixa era anche equipaggiamento dei reparti di volo piu' specializzati (il CEV Centro Sperimentazione Volo) al polso dei piloti di Mirage F1, Jaguar e Mirage G5. Praticamente identico a quello in dotazione alla Luftwaffe, dotato del sistema Taylor per ottenere il "retour en vol" cioe' l'azzeramento dei secondi cronografici premendo sulla corona.
Furono inoltre prodotti solotempo che equipaggiarono varie forze militari fra i quali la Legione Straniera
